I'm planning a family vacation and have two to three days to explore areas outside of Las Vegas. Most of what I have found are daytrips. Any suggestions for places to stay at nearby lakes? I'm not finding much online for lodging other than hotels, which would be fine if it's right on a lake. After several days in Sin City, we're looking for a few days to unwind and slow down. Anything within a four hour drive would be great!

We've already got two days and one night on the calendar for Grand Canyon.

sodona is a very relaxing and beautiful place to visit. Its about a 4 hour drive from vegas but it is well worth the drive. It would be very worthe the while if you had about 2 days to spend there. If you go be sure to visit slide rock the children will love this. Also be sure to take the jeep tour in the mountains. Sodona is a very known beautiful awsome tourist place good luck

I have to agree w/hardwood. If you already have a grand canyon trip planned swing down and spend a day or two in Sedona. It's so beautiful and relaxing little place. Lots to explore there. I have been twice for 2-3 days and always wished I would have stayed more each time. It's a total change of pace from Vegas.

Also, if your going in the very near future (next 3-4 months) be aware it snows a lot in Grand Canyon and from Vegas to Williams, AZ can be pretty nasty if it snows. Just keep that in mind on your excurision to be prepared! HAVE FUN!

Don't know when you are going ... but if you don't mind a non-lake destination, Zion National Park in Utah isn't that far away and it's one of the great places on Earth. You won't regret the visit; it's worth an overnight stay minimum.

Zion Canyon is formed by a river, and the main part of the park is by the river ... with cliffs on both sides. It's spectacular.

The lake formed by the Hoover Dam is awfully nice too. The dam is worth a trip if you want to make a quick afternoon jaunt out of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas is the most fascinating and entertaining city in the world and with hotelbye you will discover out more. Nowhere otherwise on earth you will see a city that has all the journey amenities that only a complete resort location can offer: lavish casino resorts, fine eating, wonderful stay leisure and state-of-the art conference and business display facilities. Las Vegas is surely a spectacular town and everything that you would assume from the world-class metropolis, and more, is below for your travel pleasure. One of the places you need to visit in Las Vegas is the Fremont Street, a pedestrian place with a myriad of distinctive sites.

Vegas would not cater to families anymore. There are some issues to do, yet i've got faith that your daughter will grow to be bored. they're issues you in all probability have at residing house. Gameworks action picture theatre Dolphin Habitat-Mirage Shark Reef-Mandalay Bay curler Coasters-ny, ny, Sahara Adventuredome-Circus Circus inn swimming pools department shops- style teach, barren area Passage, and Caesars' The Grand Canyon excursion could nicely be exciting. basically watch the risk-free practices record of the excursion business employer. there replaced right into a severe profile twist of destiny a pair of years back. The Hoover Dam is thrilling, yet a sturdy 40 minutecontinual from Vegas. My suggestion, leave your daughter at residing house and choose a area this is essentially relatives friendly.

Yes indeedy!
I live 50 miles from Vegas! A little town named Pahrump.
VERY slow pace. On the drive from Vegas to Pahrump you could stop at Mt Charleston, great hiking trails, and picnic facilities.
There are lots of little ghost towns within an hours drive frome here. Get out your map and take a look!
