and it picked up exactly what i was looking for, that popcorn.net sh*t, as well as some other things that my scanner called "low risk" ...what should i do now (especially about popcorn)? quarantine or remove? should i go into a safemode before removing popcorn? please help!

Remove it.

If you don't already have it, go get Spybot and AdAware both and run them.

Also, go get crapcleaner at www.ccleaner.com

Give up using Windows, and install Linux on your computer. Linux is immune to all viruses, malware, spyware and adware.

Go to www.distrowatch.com to find out how to get all the popular flavors of Linux...

...then do an image search for Linux screen grabs on Google.

Ditto on the Spybot and Adaware.

Download it, install it, and update it. Reboot into safe mode, and run both there. Let both fix everything.
