The Yaz pill is a pill on which you take 24 days of "active" pills and four days of "placebo", or no-hormone pills. The difference between this and other pills is that most have 21 days active and 7 days off. The point is that you should get shorter and lighter periods because you have less time for breakthrough bleeding, and they are also supposed to help women with PMS. They are good pills, and have similar side effects to other birth control pills (serious: increased risks of blood clots, don't smoke while on them. Nonserious: some may gain weight, experience nausea, yadda yadda).
