You don't need all those expensive brands to make your legs and armpits smooth. Take some Dove soap and lather it up on your legs and on your armpits. If the place where the soap is kept(like a bowl or shelf in a shower) is wet, then the soap will be softer and will lather up really good. Take any razor with a curvy grip and at least three blades and press firmly at a slight angle to the surface where you are shaving. Don't press too hard or at too much of an angle, you might cut yourself. Remember to shave in the opposite direction of whatever direction the hair grows, so that you are shaving against it. Afterwards, rinse the soap off, dry yourself, and put lotion on whatever surface you shaved right afterwards while your skin still has moisture.
Try using Vaseline, it's in a big yellowish bottle and has cream colored lotion. You don't need lotion on your armpits, it won't make them any smoother. Besides, they don't usually get dry.
Most of the stories that shaving cream works better than regular soap were actually started by shaving cream companies so that more people would buy their product. I use the method described above, and you could use a microscope and not see the hairs on my leg.

Use any type of shaving lotion. It's best to do it in the shower the warm water makes your pores open up and it softens up the hair so it is easier to shave. Make sure your razor is clean and hasn't been used more than 4-5 times. The way I shave is against the growth of my hair. In other words, the hair on my legs grows down, so I pull the razor up -not up and down. Just up. then start at the bottom and go up. I do below the knee first then go back and do the thighs. Follow up after shower or bath with any moisturizer that you like. Lubriderm, Jergens, Bath and Body Works etc. Hope this helps.

Skintimate is the best for shaving your legs (in my humble opinion). Just be careful not to use a brand new razor on your legs or you'll me more likely to cut yourself... especially on the back of the knees and ankles (be careful there!)

Your legs will not be used to shaving at first, (you might get little red bumps) but eventually you'll get the hang of it. You can always use regular lotions (Aveeno is great) if the shaving gel you use doesn't make your skin feel soft enough. Also, "dry shaving" without any water is NOT fun, don't do that anywhere! You will be sure to get razor burn from that!

That veet stuff burns my legs and it doesnt get all the hair off, so I don't suggest using that. Also, waxing isn't exactly practical (time or money-wise), plus it hurts!

As far as under the arms go, I just use regular soap. Some people use shaving gel, but your armpits aren't quite as sensitive as your legs are. Plus lotions are going to make deodorant not "stick" to you as well, so I try to avoid that.

Good luck, and welcome to the wonderful world of shaving! :P

Armpits are easy just a little soap and razor away, but legs are more complicated. You must use a quality (very sharp, preferably 3 or 4 blades) razor and the key is moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. The more soft the moisturiser the easier the razor will glide over your legs. Your legs will feel wonderful afterwards too! If you want to wax there are many different products on the market you just have to find the right one for you (sensitive skin etc.) It hurts to wax the first few times but you soon get used to the pain, it also helps to take some paracetamol or something 15 minutes before you do it.
I hope this answers your question.

I use Gilette Shaving cream for women, vanilla scented, and I use the Venus Divine razor. Whatever lotion you prefer to use, I like to sometimes put Palmers Cocoa Butter on my legs. I wouldn't use any lotion on your armpits if I were you, with it being a major sweaty area sounds like a nice ground for bacteria to grow if you put lotion there, just use your regular deodarent. Good luck and congrats and starting to shave.

I don't use lotion under my arms--it makes it too moist and maybe musty--just deodorant. Directly after I shave, I may use a small amount of anti-bacterial ointment under my arms because the skin there is very sensitive and I don't like a lot of bumps or irritation. I shave my legs in a downward motion only. When i shave under my arms though, I shave in each direction because my hair-growth pattern is not in only one direction. I have dry skin if I don't moisturize well so I like to use Cocoa butter and Nivea lotions on my skin because of their richness.

GIRL FROM AN EXPERT'S POINT OF VIEW YOU NEED TO START EASILY BY USING SHAVING CREAM AND A VENUS RAZOR. GO SLOWLY UP AND THEN DOWN. BE CAREFULL WHEN THE SHAVING CREAM GETS DRY. USE COCOA BUTTER OR DOVE LOTION. GOOD LUCK AND DON'T LET THEM GROW BACK AGAIN.

Good Luck

i might want to easily ask them. i understand my Grandmas leg hair nonetheless grows, because I preserve her and shave it weekly. ( i understand it sounds disgusting yet she replaced my butt for a number of years, i wager that's my turn to assist her). some peoples hair dont advance as a lot even as they grow old, basically relies upon on the fellow.
