Anne Boleyn and Henry the VIII.... I read the Other Boleyn recently and it's a pretty interesting story.

The end of World War II. Winston Churchill wrote a book on the subject called "Triumph and Tragedy". Briefly, Germany and Japan were defeated - triumph. Russia absorbed most of eastern europe and atomic weapons were used - tragedy.
