The Powersellers probably get most of their stuff from wholesalers. If you do a search on wholesale merchandise, you should come up with a large variety. The thing with wholesale though, is you usually have to buy in large quantities, so it's a bit of a gamble. If you buy a bunch of stuff that doesn't sell, you lose your money...and get stuck with the crap!
If you just want to try to get a few things to sell, your best bet is probably garage sales. You'll have to develop an eye for what sells though or you may not make money. At least if you start this way, you only chance losing a small amount and you may be able to get rid of it later.
Start off selling something you know and research to make sure the market isn't flooded with the item you're considering selling. Do this by doing a search on Ebay to see how many are available and what the selling price tends to be. This search will also help you figure out what listing methods work best for the item.
One other thing you could do is search ebay for items with "rare" in the title, take note of what they are and search for them at yard sales, goodwill, etc. The problem with this method is that people tend to label their items as "rare" on Ebay just to try to trick bidders, so take notice if you see 200 of the same "rare" items, lol.
The best way to start using Ebay is probably to sell things you already own and are ready to part with. This way you can get a feel for how the site works and what kinds of items sell.
Also, check out your local library for books on Ebay. Last time I looked, my library had a dozen or more books about how to use Ebay, how to buy from ebay, the best selling techniques...and now that I think of it, I even saw a book about how to find things to sell on Ebay.
Good luck...remember me when you're rich :D

Hi,

Interesting post. I started my eBay selling "adventure" about 4 years ago. I tried unsuccessfully on and off for about 2 years to sell products on eBay. There are so many factors that need to be right in order for people to bid.

I had this nagging feeling that it's a solid business model to sell on eBay, so I didn't give up. My wife was watching TV and saw an infomercial for a course to learn how to sell and be successful on eBay. She bought it for me for my birthday 2 years ago, and I'm EXTREMELY successful at selling on eBay on.

When I saw your question I looked to see if the same kit is still being sold, and I found it for FREE on the Internet! They're only asking $1.95 for shipping!!!!!

I highly recommend this course if you want to be successfull, and you certainly can't be $1.95. And yes, it tells you where powersellers get their items.

Good Luck
