Free foam???!?

Question

I need to get lots of free foam, peices of assorted size averaging 30cm square. To fill a foam pit like they would have at a gymnasium. Does anyone know where i can get it? I've heard sofa manuffacturers have scrap peices they throw away. Any light on this or other ideas? Thanks

I don't know of a place that has free foam, but you can try advertising on your local freecycle list.
Go to www.freecycle.org and find your local lists on the right hand side. Join any that are close enough to areas you're willing to drive to. All the ones I've seen so far have been Yahoo groups, so they're easy to use.
Once you're a member, post your request for foam as either a want or a need, depending on whether you need it for a legitimate project (like you're a teacher working on a school experiment). If someone has some you can pick up, they'll send you an email and you can arrange to get it from them. I recommend being as specific as possible about what you're looking for because if people aren't sure what you mean, they won't ask, they just won't respond.
