Everything in Malaysia is dependent on race. The correct way to phrase a question would need to include race. For example, if you were to ask about the "State of Israel" or "Is there Terrorism in South East Asia", you would get 2 completely different results.
It is against religion to use any contraptive device (external or internal) if you are a Muslim. However most of the other people especially those in the city do Family Plan.

of course we Malaysian did family planning otherwise we would have beat China in term of population ! But this boiled down to awareness n educational level too, personal preferences also play a big part here because some like one or two kids but others just love football team family !
My parents having 7 children but all my sibling n me are having average of 3 kids per family n there is no indication that the number would grow !

in rural area, no.
but in big city and town, with the increasing cost of living and to make sure children get good education, parents do practice family planning.
it is expensive to have many children. the education fees, tuition fees, bus fare... the qoutas to get the young one into universities...
if no family planning? children will suffer, and parents will work like a dog!!!!
