I walk right past them, I hate when people do that ask for money, on the street, even if I do have money in my pocket why should I give it to them. Do you just pass them on the street or do you give then a buck or some lose change?

I pass them on the street and don't give them nothing I know it sound cruel but that's what I do.

Did you know that 80% of homeless people are homeless because they are mentally ill?
How about if we turned the reasons for homelessness around and said that the reasons for homelessness was due to the colour of your skin. Or how about if you are a diabetic your chances of being homeless were higher. What about if you were there solely because you had aids.
Fact is that these people are there due to inadequate care that they deserve but do not recieve. It is a shame that this is the case because 1 in 5 people will suffer from some form of mental health issue in their life time.
Truley "There but the grace of God go I" could not be more resounding than in this case.
I have spoken with many homeless people since i have spent most of my working life working for charities. I once asked a man that i saw every day what happened to him. How did he get this way.
You see he was a big rich business man in the 80's until the resession hit and he lost everything. His money, wife and kids. He began to had Obessive Compulsive symptoms and before he knew what happened he was on the streets ill and unable to help himself.
No I dont give money to them but i do support programs and charities that help these guys.
I pray that you do not have to face this yourself one day.

When I do have money, I give it to them. Why? Because for whatever reason, I know they'd rather have a warm house, good food and a family that cares. Things that I have and they don't.
It's not for me to assume why they don't have those things, but what I know for sure is that if theyhad a choice, they wouldn't want to keep sleeping on the floor of some dirty bus station.
The people that think that homeless people choose to live that way just don't want believe that luck had anything to do with how they themselves are currently living.

If I have it, I give it. I know that if I was in that situation, I would want others to give me that kindness. Not all bums choose to be like that...theres plently of reasons why they are. Alot of them used to be "normal" people who lost their footing... Trade places with them for a week. See if you still feel the same way. Hell, don't even do that. Go live in the getto for a few months. Ask everyone who asks you for money about their story, how they got to be where they are...you'll be surprized...

When I see a beggar on the street (if I have the chance ) I give
him some money , .Why? Because I don't know if that person
needs the money to buy something to eat. If the person does-
not use the money for food, then that's his problem.

if i have some change 2 spare i would... i dont live in a big city so i never see anything like that... u just have 2 think of it like u were givin that dollar 4 something more useful than 2 spend it on like a tv or something... i would stop and say ill igve u this if u swear u will use it 4 food or something u NEED not like drugs!!! hope this helps

There are so many homeless people here in San Francisco if I gave a dollor to one then I would have to give one to all!!
So most of the time I just say sorry no, but once in a blue moon I give some change to the homeless.
I feel bad, but damn I worked hard for my money!!

Depends what mood im in, I usually tend to give them food and drink, like one time I walked past one eating a pasty, i felt bad so i gave it to him aswell as an apple and my drink. at least i know they cant buy drugs or alcohol but they have been fed, thats my good deed done,

I'd much rather buy them food. If they resist, then they're obviously not hungry. Once I even had a guy at McDonalds ask for money, I said I'd buy him a meal, but he said he wanted KFC. I still pushed and bought him food there. "Beggers can't be Choosers"
