I gained some weight since I quit smoking, most of it around my waist. While I am trying to slim down, wondering what would be the best clothing for me to wear in the meantime to hide it. I'm a D Cup up top and do like to accentuate that, so it's hard for me to find shirts that are baggy around my waist but tighter up top. Every picture I see of myself I hate, so I'm obviously not wearing the right things. Any ideas?

Dear Jesska; good for you for quitting smoking!
My advice would be to wear the same color on top as the bottoms, so if you wear blue denim wear a dark blue top. This camoflages the middle and creates a smooth line for the eye, making you look taller and therefore slimmer! This will even work when you wear light colored pants, by wearing a matching colored top!

Also, to attract the eye upward and away from your middle, wear large or long dangly earrings. This will also make you look elegant and grown up!

Instead of accentuating your chest if you have a larger bottom you need to accentuate the waist line. This shows your shape. Avoid wearing pants that sit high on your waist and get lower cut pants with a shirt or jacket that comes just to the top of the pants. Don't get clothes that have a baggy waist this will make you look bigger than you actually are!!! Go for a more fitted look! It will work!

Don't try to accentuate your bust so much.

Try wearing shirts, not tops, and leave a couple of buttons undone if you must - shirts don't normally cling, always look smart, and you can still make them them look sexy.

Also, skirts are always more slimming than pants - especially pencil skirts.

Get some tailor-made if you can't find any that fit. Dressmakers actually aren't that expensive.

All the best - i also am slightly larger than average, and trying my best to get down!

You don't necessarily have to wear clothes tight across your bust to accentuate it. Wearing a deeper neckline, a necklace that ends at your cleavage or even a scarf around your neck with the ends at your bust will draw the eye there. Keep everything below your bust as plain and as simple as possible so that there is no reason for anyone to look there.

I also am well endowed, but my waist has been thinner! I would recommend one of the tops which reveal the breast a bit, cover that with a loose fitting jacket, you will be very much in style and the eye will travel up to your ample and magnificent assets. If you wear large earrings and a cute hairdo that aught to be the topping of the cake, so to speak.

Anything with an Empire waist would accentuate your breasts and hide your tummy at the same time.

Try doing waist twists to trim down through your middle.

work those d-cups but make sure you dont look slutty and about that wiast of yours of course you dont want to squeeze your guts out but baggier clothes can also make you look big. you need to find a balance in between.

since you have quit smoking (good for you!) you may not like the way you look for a long time. because of certain anxieties that come after quitting you may want to talk with your doctor about depression and maybe get some therapy.

At this time in fashion, shirts that have a flaring bottom are "in." Although I don't have fabolous boobs like you do, I just bought a few shirts that have a nice tight top and flaring bottom. Try Charlotte Russe! They have many tops like this, with great designs.

Check out shirts that are longer. Or loose fitting. Take a look at this look from Scarlett Johannson.
