Is that necessary? I finally made the decision to get my flu shot tomorrow :-/.

I will never give myself or my baby a shot for LAST YEARS strain of flu, which is exactly what a flu shot it. Flu shots, in my opinion are ridiculous and unnecessary. I have read nothing that shows that if you get a flu shot, you won't get the flu. In fact, all I seem to hear, are people who get the shot, then get sick.

No need to pump and dump. Breastfeed as usual.

From the US Centers for Disease Control:

"Influenza vaccine does not affect the safety of mothers who are breastfeeding or their infants. Breastfeeding does not adversely affect the immune response and is not a contraindication for vaccination."

nooooooo my doctor gave me mine 3 weeks ago the day after I gave birth to my daughter right in the hospital and I am breastfeeding her. They didn't have me pump and dump.
