I always gave my children water at that age. Especially if they get a little constipated. It also helps with them swallowing when they are learning to eat more solids..

I always offered a few sips of water between bites at that age to help teach them to wash the food down.

As long as it is not overtaking the milk, it should be fine. My daughter has always LOVED water. If you are too concerned about it, you can call your physician. I think it is fine, and good for them to have! Good Luck!

My pediatrician told me too much water could cause a ceisure... but when he told me that I thought to myself well theres water in formula???? anyway I give my child anything I think is safe but in moderation, dont give it to him everytime but if you see that he or she is thirsty GO AHEAD =0)

it's fine to do that. it will just fill them up faster.
