Hey guys, If I were to promote a dance in my community, what would get you to come? The band? The location? What attracts you to something like this?

I would be very attracted to the band or guest playing at the dance but i would also come if it had a great theme.

I'm 22 ~ the band wouldn't matter that much, long as they're playing music you can dance to & stuff my gramma wouldn't listin to..., The location would be nice & somewhere that everyone knows where its at,that isn't to hard to find if you don't. How the location is set up would effect how long I'll stay. Free stuff always attracts people. And low or no admission price is garentted to get people there. Activitiys people would wanna do are good. Low prices on food and stuff would convince more people to come... alot of upbeat announcments (flyers,raidio ads, word-of-mouth) makes people interested, be sure to mention all the importent stuff in those (times,place,price,and phone number to ask any questions at) and then some of the good attractions... For that age group, you may wanna promite it as a great date night, with dances w/ a hot guy/girl for a doller if you don't have a date, also that there would be plenty of single people just hanging out together so plenty of chances to meet someone. Have some kinda contest or give away. Theres tons of stuff you could do, just depends on WHY your haveing the dance...

The overall atmosphere of the event, the way the band, the location and everything else would be linked.
(I'm 16 by the way, in case you're interested in finding out what each age group prefers)

NICE flyers and if my friends were to come I would totaly go. A good DJ or a band that has good music that people know of it also a must. But of course the location should be close enough to walk to. :3

I'd only go if my friends were going...
But it helps if its easy to get there and I know there'll be decent music. I prefer a DJ to a band. If it was a formal kind of dance I'd go just for the excuse to get dressed up :D

+If alot of my friends where going,
+if there was free food =D,
+my favorite band playing or even a good DJ
+if the dance was to raise money for a good charity,
+if it was nearby & in a good neighborhood where i knew alot of people
