When did it become the norm to set off fireworks the day before bonfire night in the UK?
And the day before that?
And the day after bonfire night?
In fact, why DO people insist on setting off fireworks all the time? Bonfire night is over or hadn't you noticed?
Grumble, grumble, British values, moan, whinge, whine, complain and grumble again.
:)

There should just be allowed to set firework off on the 5th November or the weekend either side until 11.00pm. New Years Eve until 12.30am, Diwali until 11.00pm
all other times ie birthdays or what ever you should have to apply for a licence then people with pets would know when to keep them in. This year I heard fireworks still being set off at 3am in London during Diwali (If there was a licence at least the police would know who had a permit not that it would deter some selfish people)

Why do people set fireworks off every night for 6 weeks before bonfire night and right up until the middle of January after bonfire night, yes bonfire night is over but the sods round here have started making the excuse it will soon be Christmas, we have put up with this year in and year out for ages now and its getting worse not better were we live, so wish they would ban them from use except for November 5th.

you are right but I think it was Diwali a week or so before and eid both give course for fireworks. but it is children letting them off every night. they should not have the money to waist or be able to get them. in fact I think any one Oort side an organised display should be arrested. it is particularly danger us at Halloween I feel on 5 day before bonfire night.

its been going on for approx 2 weeks by me drives me nuts as it wakes my kids up every 5mins they should be banned until the night before and on the night. i have children so understand people want to have fireworks but why does it go on for 2 weeks. i even had one over my house set off by a couple of kids in the middle of the day. they are dangerous and should only be on sale the day before not weeks before.

Do you mean "British humour"?
I believe that fireworks for the general public should be banned.
I have seen too many children with horrific burns.
If you are elderly or have a pet all that noise can can be very annoying.

There has not been a single firework set off tonight around my area. I love my area and my neighbours.
To be honest I think they used them all up yesterday.
OMG it's nearly midnight, It's past my bedtime.
Goodnight.
