theres a lot to be researched too, so prepare for lots of work
stuff like causes, preventions, consequences, proof
research into Kyoto Accord, greenhouse gases, ocean currents, recent appearances of hurricanes (hurricanes build on warm air, and the temperature has been rising in the past few decades), car emissions, melting ice caps, change in migration of animals, stuff like that

A topic I always wanted to do a research paper on but never go the chance is wormholes. You should be able to find a ton of information on wormholes simply by googling the term.
