Unfortunately you really cannot get away with downloading media content without a client of some sort.
Let me ask you this; are you trying to circumvent your company's acceptable use policy? Or you don't want to use a client of some sort because you do not have admin rights to your machine?
either way; the best way to get media content without installing a client; use Opera 9 web browser-- it has a built in bit torrent client;
Just access any torrent site and download away....
I like to visit: http://btjunkie.org
Or if you're elite;
you could use google to search 'index/ of mp3' on web servers on the internet
(this should warrant a BEST OF...answer) ;)

try www.soundclick.com or www.pjbutta.com-all you need is to sign up for the free membership.
and another way to get free music is to search for a song on windows media player, play the song, and while it's playing click file and then save media as........and the song is all yours!! for free! i figured that out the other day ;)
