Could be razor burn. Could be the hair is starting to grow back and the skin there is very sensitive so its easy to get lots of ingrown hairs that cause a very painful rash. Scrubbing with a soapy wash cloth might help the hair come thru the skin easier, though it doesn't feel good. But if you don't do something, the rash could become infected. Some women have skin that is too sensitive to shave there.

I believe that you're thinking of the labia. Not the vagina. The vagina is internal.

Regarding shaving technique. Do not go against the direction of hair growth, go with the direction to avoid stubble.

Prepare the area well with shaving cream, and use a sharp (new double blade). The Intuition brand also works quite well. Moisturize when finished.

You are probably correct. Tell her to take it easy and not repeatedly go over the same area again and again. In the meantime, she can use a hydrating lotion like "Lubriderm" to relieve some of the discomfort she's experiencing. Maybe instead of shaving, she'd be better off just cutting the hair short.

It might be the razor is not new . Others might have using in other area . And I guess she might be having fungi infection . She could use a dactarin powder which could be bought over the pharmacy .

That happens when you shave course hair with a dull razor. Next time she should either make sure to change razors or wax.

First of all.....OUCH! Its gotta be razor burn. It will probably itch when the hair comes back too. Tell her to use vasaline to keep it from getting too iritated.
