Men are fertile all the time.

Women on the other hand are only fertile for a short time every menstural cycle. When you ovulate (when the egg is released from the ovary) the egg only lives between 12-24 hours. If it is not fertlized in this time it will die and you will have your period in about 14 days.

If you have sex during when you are ovulated, or are about to ovulate, there is a good chance you will become preganant.

The book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" can teach you how to track your cycles so you know when you are ovulating and fertile, so you can concieve or not. http://www.tcoyf.com

So the answer to your question: No, you can't get pregnant when you are not fertile.

No. If you are not fertile that mean that there is a problem with your eggs and you cannot become pregnant...at least not without the help of a fertility specialist.
