What's the difference between a plushy and a furry?

I was watching an episode of CSI a while ago, and there was a plushies and furries convention. So what's the difference, or is there one? And if there is no difference, then why 2 different terms?

plush is more soft not quite furry more fuzzy

furry is not always soft longer fibers...
