If I flew as much as he does, and paid the going rate for the flights, I'd would have spent a lot of money! And why should the tax payers have to pay for this?

I'm not exactly sure how the money is dispersed, but I would imagine it comes from a travel stipend or something. That might bring up the question of what funds are used to pay for Air Force One.

But I think it's important for our political leaders, regardless of their party, to do some travelling for the sake of keeping up good relations between other groups.

Every one in Washington travels at tax payers expense. The only difference is that Senators & congressmen have to pay to take their family on these junkets. That is if they are on a fact finding tour. In this country the house & senate must pay their own way when they go home to see the people. The president has to pay a small fee to take guest along on his trips. The press also travel for free. Air Force1 is paid from defence department funds.

The same people that paid for Bill Clinton's campaign trips for his second election. The taxpayers are having to pay the salaries of you no good, ineffective liberals.

Probably the same people who paid for President Clinton to fly around campaigning for Democrats.

Do you liberals ever actually perform any mental function that can be remotely described as "reason"? Good God.

We get to pay for it as tax payers. I wish we didn't but its a fact-- they all do it.

I haven't seen any info to the contrary.

in addition to the clintons and carters-- Bush I , Regan, Ford, Nixon, etc. they all do it as they are the leaders of the party while they're in office.

Who paid for the Bill Clinton to make his campaign trips when he was President? Who pays for Hillary to make hers now? Too bad you're not President, then. You don't rate the perks.

some of it is from presidential privilege to have control of the plane and helicopters.. but they try to make it so that as fair as possible to cover it with election contributions.. but it isn't done perfectly, so yes.. tax payers did end up paying for some of his election through his presidential privilege.. but meh.. doesn't really matter, they are all rich.. and would have ended up same way.
Oops, i read your question wrong.. yeah, i think it is all done by his presidential privelege.

the taxpayers of course...and why should we have to pay for this? probably because us little pee-ons don't have a big enough voice to restrict this or the millions other things the government gets to screw us over on...

You do. And each flight costs a helluva lot more than your average commercial airfare.
