I have had both a dwarf and a regular hamster. I currently have a runt, albino black bear and the offspring of it and a golden syrian. Dwarf hamsters are more socialable with other dwarf hamsters. regular hamsters, especially Goldens tend to prefer to be loners. Especially the males. They tend to fight with everyone else. The dwarf I had was a biter. But it may have been the personality of that paticular hamster. Personally I prefer the larger hamsters, easier to find when they escape. But both sizes are cute.

well.. to take care both type of hamster is not really different.. I had a regular hamster 1 year ago and a dwarf hamster now..
In my opinion also, dwarf are cuter than the regular hamster.. to decide the physical appearance, you should decided it on your own.. but if are asking the different ways to take care these 2 types of hamster, they are not really different..
also be aware that the younger the hamster is, the easier is to make a good relation with the hamster.. also remember that the smaller the hamster is, is much hard to catch it if it escapes..
just compare the dwarf and the regular hamster side by side, either one you pick will make you fall in love with them eventually.. trust me ^^

I think that a dwarf hamster is cuter but a regular is easier to take care of. Are you going for looks or everything?

You should get a regular hamster. Our family has had 3 reg. hamsters so far. They have all been great! The reason why I dont like the smaller ones is because if you get a frisky one like my sister it would be really hard to catch them, but because the regular ones are bigger they are easier to catch and hold. Plus I think reg. ones are way cuter. I hope this helps.

I like dwarf hamsters, they are cuiter and small, but they can be a little mean so whatch out. The younger they are, the more you handle them, and the more used to you they are, the nicer they will be. Watch out though, they are fragiler than regular hamsters.

The only thing that's different is their size...although dwarf males won't eat their offspring, that's a big plus. If you're only getting one, then it's up to you if you want a big one or little one. I wouldn't say one is better than the other in any situation, they're just different and it comes down to personal preference, I've owned both...and I don't prefer one over the other.

Definetly a dwarf hamster. Mine is so cute because he can fit in my hand. I also have a regular one which I don't like much because it chews the bars and now his nose is squashed and sort of sideways, and his butt is HUGE!!!

any hamster will do. Just make sure the first couple weeks you have him/her you pet and hold it in your hands so that it trusts you.
