I hope not. That would suck in the extreme. I would like to see it end where Harry becomes the youngest headmaster Hogwarts has ever had.

Around the time the second book came out, the author let it be known (or maybe it was just speculation) that she had written the last chapter of book seven, and that the very last word was 'scar'. I've always thought that Harry would eventually die, but not in a way anyone would expect. It would probably have nothing to do with Voldemort (except in a roundabout way), and more to do with the fact that Harry Potter is a very large angsting teenage brat.
Since the fifth book, I've always hoped that he would die. Whether to be reunited with his parents, or just because I hated him at the moment I was thinking it, I've thought he would die. Unfortunately, if Harry Potter dies, there is a very good chance that Voldemort has taken over the wizarding world because "neither can live while the other survives".
There's also the question of Neville Longbottom. If you don't know why he's so important, then you haven't been reading well, and should reread them. Never trust the movies for accuracy.
No one can know what goes on in the mind of the falling J.K. Rowling. However, my bets are that Ron and either Remus Lupin or Severus Snape will loose their lives in the next book.
Of course, I also think Sirius Black will be brought back from beyond the veil, and that Snape is not a bad guy, so who am I to judge?

SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!!
I don't know what I want to happen
If she kills him off, it will be a total twist you wouldn't think she'd do
But if she kept him around, people would be happy but it would be all that worry just to find out it's another run of the mill good triumphs over evil thing...
Maybe if harry gets corrupted and kills Voldy and takes over being the bad guy... That would be a totally unforseen thing...
actually, i think she's been hinting that... Snape says in Spinners End that the death eaters thought he was "someone they could rally around again"...
GAHHH!!!
all this wondering is making me have to pee....
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I WANNA KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

according to what I have read on my web updates-the author is going to kill 2 main characters--my guess is haryy potter will be one secondary to the authors comments about how some will be unhappy with the ending AND--she feels strongly that she never wants anyone to be able to write a sequel once she is one,,,HHHhhhmmmm!

Well we can't tell for sure because she didn't make the book yet and there's only one way to find out, wait. I know it's annoying but it's the only way.

I think he is going to die because this is going to be her last book so he will die and there will be no reason to not make another book with him still living.
