don't know about Kool moe D, but Dana Dane is still spinnin tunes in NYC at Sirius on Old Skool 43. i believe he has other endeavors as well, but I couldn't tell ya what they are.

As all things, rap has evolved. As more people come in, they have to put their own mark on the genre, and that often times means taking it in new directions.

Run DMC's "Tricky" and "King of Rock" are still among my favs.

I haven't heard anything about Kool Moe Dee lately but I know he was the author of the book "There's A God on the Mic" where he analyzes his 50 favorite rappers. I think he is laying low because a photographer made allegations that Kool Moe Dee did not pay him for the images he took for his book but that was in 2003. I been a fan of his since he was with the Treacherous Three when they made the song "Heartbeat" and when the Treacherous Three appeared on Beat Street with Dougie Fresh. I know he was in the video "Wild Wild West" by Will Smith and I also seen him in the movie "The New Guy" as a prison guard. I remember he battled Busey Bee and blew him out the water, when he made the song "Go See the Doctor" and "How you like me Now". I remember that there were people trying to spread rumors saying that Dana Dane died in the World Trade Center disaster but he still alive. Also, people tried to start a feud between him and Slick Rick saying that Dana tried to steal his style but Slick Rick shut those haters up by having Dana Dane appear in his " A Teenage Love" video. He has a Myspace page.

Oh course I remember that. Afrika Bambada, Sugar Hill Gang, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5... I miss it all. Hip Hop isn't quite the same.
