I live in San Diego, and I wanted to know if there are still hippies around here. If so where would I find them. I am 14 years old and i wanted to know if there are a new generation of hippies spreading, and if so, where would I go to find them?

First of all hippies is a term meant solely for those teenagers, etc. that grew up in the 60's and early 70's.....definitely not meant for any of todays generation.
A definable term for a hippie is anti-establishment, anti-war (you know Vietnam), equal rights, etc.... many of us were college kids just wanting to be heard who wanted to make a change for the better in this country....we then became yuppies in later years.....and viable contributing members of society.
I laugh when I see kids your age asking about hippies or even mentioning that they saw hippies........not a term for here and now.

I don't think there can be a new generation. At best, they would be a pale imitation. Watch the Woodstock film to see the real thing.
