Primitive? Have you watched the "Saddam's Reign of Terror" documentary showing the videos his government made (and released to the people to scare them into submission) of the torture of Iraqis? They tied people up, blindfolded them, and pushed them off of tall buildings. They strapped live grenades to people's chests. They dropped nerve gas on children, leaving them to die slow, painful deaths. They killed people by firing squad. They broke people's arms and legs with hammers. And, finally (although I know I am leaving a lot out), they . . . . .

hanged people.

Hanging in this case is far too civilized.

Can anyone argue that the punishment doesn't fit the crime? No
Can anyone argue that he was innocent? No

In this day and age when we are so cushioned from reality, it is refreshing to see justice be served. Taking someone's life in the course of justice, while extreme, is the enlightened position. It demonstrates superior reasoning to be able to reconcile the evil of the crime with the necessity of justice. Keep working it over, and you'll understand that, far from primitive, it is a timeless concept.

It probably is but I really have a hard time feeling sorry for him. All those mass graves and all that torture seemed primitive to me so I guess it proves a lot about karma. His really must be bad by now.

In my opinion Sadam killed thousands of people that would have took hanging over being beheaded or buried while still alive, raped and tortured etc. I really think not only is it not to primitive it is too quick also I think he should be tortured and buried while still alive. The mass graves he used heavy equipment to dig and push their partially alive bodys into.and bury

Yes. I think that they should let him go about his life, knowing that at any moment, unlike the Kurds, he will be attacked and gassed to death. I think that's more fitting. Primitive or not, he deserves a little fear first.

Saddam deserves to die a brutal death for what he did on 9/11. In my opinion, hanging him seems very light compared with his crime.

Imagine that, a feeble idiot on Answers wringing his hand on the manner in which Saddam should be killed. Hanging him is too honorable a death for that scum bag.
