Actually I don't think it is.I think that you can practice all day and all night but if you don't have the talent...Well a pro team will probably overlook you for a more talented guy.

The sport that is most associated with talent is the NBA.I mean it's almost impossible to get there without a huge amount of talent. Now I practice will bring out the talent but I don't think it can create it.

I agree that some people who have talent don't take full advantage of it.Why?Because thy think that it's just gonna train itself and it will happen by it self.Like I said before practice will make talent come out.

Yes, only because it's one part of the equation. Hear me out. I used to work with college athletes at a major university - a powerhouse when it comes to basketball (often). I saw some very talented young men go, absolutely nowhere. Why? No discipline. What you said is important - the practice along with the talent. IF the talent is all that's emphasized, there's going to be a problem.

That question can go either way. From your stand point no talent is most definetly not overrated. As you said if you practice all day and you don't have the talent chances are you won't get noticed. However, lets say we are talking about a career such as medicine or teaching, if you have the talent and don't work it well or practice it is overrated. I have seen many talented people fall to the pits because they lack the effort needed. And vice versa I have also seen the talentless or semi-talented reach high points because they busted their behind to get there.

I dont know i think talent is important, but its not even close to it being everything that makes a great athlete. Alot of people are pretty athleticly talented, and while some are more than others I have seen some people who dont have AS MUCH talent but better discipline go very far and pass the very talented people.

It takes both talent and hard work to make it in football. Many players with talent just don't care to put forth the effort to become all they can be, and many very hard working players just don't have enough athletic ability. Most guys are like my dad told me, "Son, you run too long in one place".

trust me it is not. having talent is a good thing, and it makes you unique in so many ways. some pople might not even have that talent, like the people in Guiness World Records. so yeah, its so NOT overrated.

You're right. It greatly depends on exactly what it is, but I think you're either born with it or you're not. And if you're not, you can learn or practice, but there will always be THAT one who'll beat you at the same thing. E.g.s are sports, instruments, some games...

Nope, I don't think so. I agree with you. Talent cannot be overrated.

Talents can never be manufactured. You either got it or you don't.
