Beachgirl is right. When it happens, just make sure you relax. Sit down and stop ALL strenuous activity because the baby is pushing on your lungs making it difficult to breath. And you need that oxygen. You're so close to the end, just make it a few more days and as soon as you deliver, all the pregnancy pains will be gone (thank goodness, because then you have a whole new set of difficulties). Good luck!

I would definetly let your doctor know this. At 39 weeks I had chest, back, leg pains that were unbelievable. I wouldn't worry too much, but I'm sure you are going to the doctor once a week by now. So, let him/her know that you are having chest pains just to rule out health problems. I'm sure you are just fine. Like I said, I remember having chest pains at times when I was pregnant. Good Luck and Congratulations!

Is this your first baby? do you have asthma? It may simply be there is no room left for your own poor body to do anything properly!the baby has simply taken over. It is very likely just caused by the huge pressure of carrying a new human being around in your body. Do you swim? I used to find great relief from chest and rib pressure by floating around in a swimming pool! good luck, you are nearly there.

I don't know if this is your first child or not, but it sounds like normal pressure. Though I have heard so many stories of women who had no idea that were in labor until their body started pushing. Do you think it could be labor? Sometimes the pain tolerance is really high in some woman. Call your dr. She'll ease your mind.

You know it could be indigestion which is very common in pregnancy. Try a couple of rennies and see if that relieves it. If symptoms worsen or you at all concerned I'm sure the emergency room would be understanding and willing to look you over.

Best wishes for the upcoming event!

Had them as well as a result of very tight rib-cage, that means my ribs are relly close together so they hurt expanding, and it can be your diaphgram as well when the blood gets trapped in there as a result of your bump's pressure it can hurt as well.
Go and check over in case though, cause it can be a serious heart condition as well, when heart having to pump more blood becomes bigger and cant work properly, so just get it checked in case

Im sure u are fine

Have a great labour and hope it goes well and you will enjoy your little human like i enjoy having mine

LOTS OF GOOD LUCK AND LOVE!!!!!

I have. Just recently. Are you anemic? While I was preg I had to take 2 iron pills a day along with prenatal vitamin. My son is 8 mo now so I decided to really start dieting. I had stopped taking my piss after my son was born / thinking it was over because my preg was over. After dieting for a month I started with these pains you describe. I saw a doc. Mine was a type of anemia. Iron keeps your red blood cells up. Red blood cells carry oxygen to your heart and lungs. When you don’t have enough iron you start to loose red blood cells ie. you start to loose oxygen. Not enough oxygen to your heart and lungs causes chest pains. I must take iron everyday now. I advise you to see your doc so you know where your body stands.

Do not even worry its because the baby is growing so much inside of you that he/she is pressing down on your lungs or to much by your rib cage its very common but if its get severe might want to talk to your doctor next time you see him.
