Best place is cool and dry, like a root cellar. If you have a cool garage or shed you could try there. If the turnips are fresh, they do not keep so well, but if they are waxed they last a long time in cool temps. I keep root vegetables in an unheated front room, and I also use a space by the back door that stays cold.

Wax them and store in a cool dark place or a refridgerator.
