you get to know your cervical mucus. Just after your period finishes, your vagina may feel a little dry for a few days. then you will notice a gradual increase in the natural vaginal discharge. At first it will be thick and glutinous; you wipe yourself every time you go to the bathroom. As ovulation approaches, this mucous discharge will thin out and become clear and watery; it is preparing to make the passage of sperm easier to the egg being released. you may also notice a slight pain or pressure on one side of your groin.this is a sure sign of ovulation. You may not want to go to the chemist, but an ovulation thermomoter is really useful to have, as your tempurature goes up when you ovulate. however, it's a real nusiance to have to pop a thermomoter in your mouth brfore you get out of bed, every day for a month!!

I agree with the other answers but you can also take your temperature first thing in the morning before you get up or eat or drink anything. Start on the first day of your cycle...your temps. will be within .1 to.2 degrees until you ovulate. Keep a graph. When you ovulate there will be at least a .5 jump that will continue until you have your next period. My hubby and I used that and we got pregnant really fast for all my kids.

To know 100%, a kit would really be helpful. A few ways of knowing is to take your temperature the same time every day from the last day of your period until the day your next period starts and there should be a few days in the midst of all of it where your temperature is higher...those few days, usually around 14 days or so after the first day of your last period, are when you are ovulating...once you do that, pay attention to the symptoms surrounding that, like minor twinges or cramps and an increase in discharge.

Your body lets off lots of signs, the biggest one is the egg white cervical mucous (EWCM) it looks just like egg whites and it very stretchy. When you see this you are the most fertile and should have intercourse at that time. If you need to track your CM for the next month and you will see the changes. Also you may get whats called Mittlescherz German for middle pain. I have this when I ovulate but for the last 2 pregnancies I have gone off the EWCM and its worked both times. Good luck and God Bless.
