Which is better Football(soccer) or American Football?

I was arguing with one of my friends over which sport is better I say Football but he says American Football is better so please reply which one do you think is better to watch and to play.

I think it all depends on who you are and where you live.

For say, if you a middle aged American man, you might say American football.

Or if you are, I don't want to offend anyone, a younger English person, football might be better for you.

I think it really all depends. Personally, I like non-American football!SOCCER!

I'm from Mexico and in here people is 95% fan of soccer, but i'm with the other 5% that likes sports that require both phisical and mental skills, say american football or baseball, it's just plain more fun to watch and play, requires more discipline and a better sportsmanship than soccer.

'm 25 years old and i've never liked soccer, only when is in the street or some field with my friends is ok, but watching soccer here is just awful if you want to watch better soccer watch UEFA Champions League, is the only soccer i can watch.

But hey soccer is all year all the time, the very good american football is just for 5 months, so enjoy it while you can!!

Well American Football is different than other football. Simply football is American Soccer. My opinion is I like soccer better, but everyones opinions is different and don't let something silly like that ruin a relationship.

Football (soccer) is definitly the better sport. You play hard for 90 min with only a 5 min half-time and no timeouts. All you wear for protection are shinguards. This game is more fun to play. As for to watch, I think both are a little boring. Each sport has their highlights and football stops too many times after a play and is slow to move on.

Soccer Football would be better if it allowed for more scoring.Most Americans don't have the patience to sit there for 90 minutes to watch a 1-0 or 0-0 game.Boring ! Get rid of the stupid offsides rule and open it up.Maybe let the goalies bring it up the field and/or have players who get carded wear sombreros for the rest of the game.Cheerio !

football, or as we say it, soccer, is about 20 times better than football.fotball is only so popular because it is a true american sport.

I actually prefer them both to play. However, American Football is more stimulating to watch, Soccer (Football) can get quit boring to watch. (fun to play, played it for 15 years all the way up through High School.)

As far as more demanding on the body? Has to be American Football, as their is more aggressive contact.

I think the answer lies in the culture we were brought up it. In soccer infected countries, it would be strange if soccer were not your favorite. As a middle aged American, American football is in my blood.
