I know what a yield sign is and what to do at it except one thing. If a yield sign is at a 4 way intersection and the light is red do you still have to come to a complete stop or do you still just slow down and look for peds and oncoming cars and if it is clear just go or do you still have to stop and check oncoming traffic then go(Because its a red light) I know if its green then your fine and that a yield sign on just a regular road you just slow down and check for traffic. So again my question is at a red light and you are turning right but there is a yield sign, do you stop completly or still just look for oncoming traffic.

If there is just a yield sign when you are turning right and everything is clear, just keep going, but at a slower rate. Always use caution at a yield sign, since you do have to give way to oncoming traffic. The oncoming traffic should not have to give way to you.

By itself, a yield sign means you have to slow down enough that you can easily stop, and look to make sure nobody is coming. If there is cross traffic coming, you have to stop and yield to them. If there isn't a car coming, you may proceed without stopping. No offense to Tyler R, but whoever taught him to drive was wrong. If the yield sign was intended to be a stop sign then they would have just used that. I have never seen a yield sign at a stop light, but since they are there you have to obey both. If you have a red light, you ALWAYS have to stop, even if you are turning right. If you have a green light, you only have to obey the yield sign, which shouldn't be an issue because cross traffic should have a red light anyway, automatically giving you the right of way. I hope this helps.

Yield sign, no matter where it is, means one thing: yield to oncomming traffic. If it means stop until it's safe to do so, then stop. If there's no oncomming traffic, the proceed with caution.
