This is a regular question here and I despair at some of the answers.
Right.
I'm an actor and I'm very busy so I must know SOMETHING.
The answer about studying is correct.
Aim for an acredited course and arm yourself to the teeth.
But be under no illusion as very few people make it into 'the business' as we call it.
Being in London gives you a reasonable chance of finding work but that comes later.
Do NOT contact agents as none of them are interested in untrained hopefuls.
Do NOT do extra work as it leads to nothing.
Extra work is not acting and actors do not do extra work.
And this is going to sound cruel but your question is raddled with errors.
Acting is a word-based profession (OK, I know what mime is) and you will need a good command of the language.
If you are not good at English, then I'd say maybe think again.
You will need a mental toughness to enter the profession and a drive to stay in it.
You will see your friends in nice cars and having holidays as you slog in provincial theatre for starvation wages.
And that's if you are lucky.
If you think it is about stardom, then definitely try something else.
But if this is what you truly want, then the posters who wrote about colleges and schools have got it right.
Best of luck with it.

Continue acting in drama class ( if that's what you meant). Look
in your phone book for agents, that is your best bet. Unless they
are filming in your city, then you can speak to someone there and
ask if they need any extras. My daughter was an extra for a few
movies and shows. All she did was ask a worker at this site where they were filming in our city. and she was in, in 5 different
parts. Soon after that she had an agent to get her to the right places. We live in Fresno, Ca. There is good and bad out come
on the agents you find. 1. The good part was she was in a Pepsi
commercial, Judging Amy, Even Steven, Lizzy McGuire. 2. The
bad part is about an agent is that you need to make sure he/she
is legit. We were taken for photo's and $300, the guy took the
money and ran. My daughter found this agent in a teen magazine.
And the one that did give her a job, went through this Bankruptcy.
The thing is you need to be prepared to go to different Cities.
Like I said before we lived in Fresno, CA. and we had to travel
to Los Angeles, which was okay by me because we have family
members living there. So while she went to work I had to go with
her cause she was under age, But it was pretty interesting. She
too was 16 (the, now 22) and the only reason still not working
for them is because she ended up being pregnant. There's
where she met her Husband, now they have two kids. Anyways
just do your homework when searching for a Agent. Make sure
they are ledgit, ask how long they've been in this business, ask
what you need to do? Just remember that if they like you they pay you, you don't pay them. Just for your Portfolio's or ask if
you can use your own Portfolio.

Have a look in the stage for schools - have a look at schools across the country rather than just London.

I have many friends who are actors that have opted to go into acting later on - they've got themselves qualified to be something else first and then they've done a year (or two) at a drama school. That way they have something to fall back on at the times when they don't have acting work.

Good luck with it ... or should I say "break a leg ..."

the National Youth Theatre is a good place to start. Or one of the theatre schools like stagecoach are another good place for young adults to start training. If you are still interested in acting after finishing your schooling, you should try to get on one of the CDS accredited schools, like RADA or Lamda. You can get further information on these at www.drama.ac.uk
Good Luck

Join the drama department at your school. If there isn't a drama department ask your parents to call the professional theaters and community theaters in your city and ask for recommendations on an acting shool for you.

There will be plenty of amatuer dramatic groups in your area, the library will have a list. Try The Stage Magazine,or Yellow Pages.
