sang. I was wondering how i could research the historty of this mug and exactly how old it is. If you have any info or ideas let me know. Under the mug there are two letter engraved in (m and r). Under the lid it says ERBO with an old fashioned scale underneath it and then the letters ZINN.

Zinn means tin or pewter! The best guide to dating it might be whether a Fraktur script is used on it. ERBO tells you that it is made by Erich Bolling GmbH & Co.

The company has been around since 1958 - making the lids and bases for Bierkrüge and started manufacturing its own Krüge in 1990.

Well so far all I could get was that the saying says something to the effect of "greeting God with bright sounded to welfare...". I'm not sure if that is right or not. Zinn in German means Tin. Is there any kind of hallmark on the cup. if so you can always try a hallmark website, like www.hallmarks.com .
