I know there might be some risks with hair dye, but is it the same with a color rinse, the ones that wash out after so many washes? I kind of want to get a rinse put on my hair, but I'm not sure whether or not I'm pregnant. If I am, I don't want to cause any harm to my child. Can someone give me some advice?

I had the same issue. I really wanted to dye my hair, but my OBGYN told me to wait after the first trimester. What happens a lot of times, though, actually, is you dye your hair and since your hormones are so crazy, your hair doesn't take the color! Just make sure you are in a well-ventilated room when you dye your hair. Good luck.

You can use a color rinse its safe to while pregnant. Hair dye on the other hand also dont have any proven side effects on a fetus just as a caution do not go to the scalp with it

I colored my hair TWICE during pregnancy. There is no proven study that it causes birth defects. My son is healthy and happy. I believe it's the ammonia that isn't good to breath. The rinses are perfectly safe and they do make an "all natural" hair dye. Try looking on line.

On the other hand: I just wouldn't risk it? Other things to avoid if pregnant:
soft cheeses, rare meats, stroking sheep/lambs/goats. Raw eggs/runny eggs raw fish
Your skin absorbs and passes around your body what it comes in contact with:
Try this
Take a garlic clove. Cut it in 1/2 the easy way. Rub the cut clove on the soles of your feet.
Wait 20 mins and see what happens!

These days, it should not be an issue, but your hairdresser cannot guarantee the color because of the hormonal changes in your body.

Be careful and this is NOT the time for a home job!

The risk is not the dye itself, but the fumes from it. As long as you get your hair colored in a well-ventilated area, you'll be fine.
