sorry, but I'll get the dumb part out of the way now.
It's HEAR, not here.

Anyway, I was in a band in high school and I play a little now, too. So I believe my opinion is apt.

The best way to get more people to hear you is to:

1. Sound good. Easier said than done, but if your band really isn't that great, who would want to listen anyway?
2. Play for free, anywhere, anytime. Free exposure is exposure. If you sound good and people like you, they will let you know. Then that will lead to more gigs and exposure.
3. Make a small demo disc, burn it x1 million, and give it away to friends and/or random strangers.
4. Hang out and play with other bands.
5. Practice , practice, practice.
6. Play for free, anywhere, anytime. I can't stress that enough.

good luck

Well, this is all I can think of. I am from Iowa where Slipknot was born. If they can make it, so can you. Start playing the fairs and stuff in the summer and if you have winter carnival, play there. The worst they can do is boo you. Enter talent shows even if you have "explicit" lyrics. You may not win, but at least you will be heard.

Offer to do some free shows at clubs (if you are old enough) at parties, festivals etc. Once word gets out how good you are then people will come looking for you!
