In the UK you can file for your own divorce with the courts and do not have to use a lawyer. Ive been through divorce twice, it was a costly business I agree. Not planning on doing it again with my 3rd husband :) Good luck hope you can work something out.

Call a couple of lawyers they can't charge u for that - get some ideas of the fees. If its an amicable divorce, it should be quick n easy. If she is going to fight, its going to cost more. Ask around you can get real cheap just to file papers or it can choke you. Good luck!

Go to the "Justice of the Peace" at the court house in your co. File for a non-contested divorce and pay a small fee.... Good Luck... and don't tell anybody......

Just don't hire a lawyer and pray to whatever god you choose she opts to represent herself as well. If she hires a lawyer either turn everything over or be prepared to take it up the ar$e.
