Firing squad? Why sould he be allowed to choose his own method of death? I think the best justice would be for him to be locked away in some prison, with no access to the outside world.
If he is killed by firing squad, he will be nothing but a martyr to the Sunni cause of destruction of the country, but if he is led crying and pissing himself to a gallows, he will be shown for what he really is. a coward and bully. He wants to die a hero's death, standing proud and erect, Let him die the death of the coward he is.

It is justified.
Now, whether President Jalal Talabani will sign the death order is another matter.
On the whole, this is beginning to look a lot like the makings of another Rodney King riot...only this time it'll be the Sunnis rioting if the dark lord (Saddam) is executed.
But what can you expect from all the B.S. that has piled up since our foolish invasion of Iraq?
It's almost too comical, all the events unfolding.

I don't even think he should have had a trial but I understand why he did. I'm very happy with the verdict. We will live in this once in a lifetime having a leader of a country hung....

I don't support capital punishment. I think in Saddam's case life imprisonment would be much more disgraceful to him. A death sentence will probably turn him into a martyr for alot of people.

Firing squads are usually reserved for treason, he didn't betray his own dictatorship.
Hate him all you want, and I do, but he was a dictator of his own country's policy and he never betrayed it--you can't try him in his own country.
The trial of Saddam, despite that he was an evil man, was illegal--you can't try a dictator by the laws passed after he was in power, it's ridiculous--he should have been sent to the Hague for crimes against humanity.

If die he must, then hanging it should be. A firing squad confers a sort of militaristic dignity to the scene,

I think we should hire a KJB to kill him over a period of 3 days on video. Sell the video to help rebuild Iraq and to show immoral rulers what will happen to them for human rights violations. Then again I used to be a boarder-line sociopath...

As much as I'd like to see him die, I think it would be better if he rots in jail. When they kill him, all hell is going to break loose. There will be so much violence from his supporters, no one will be safe. This is going to make him into a martyr, in their eyes.

Hanging is good enough for me. I guess I am a traditionalist when it comes to executing dictators.
