Because the camera doesn't lie, taped evidence could be used in court, whereas, unless an alarm is linked to the police and they react quickly, a noise is just not enough of a deterrent. CCTV can show the person committing the crime against the property...When I get back to live in the UK, I'll be having it, and I'll have grilles fitted to my doors and windows, couldnt imagine a house without them now...

burgular alarms are like car alarms, if one goes off, nobody bothers to investigate, the place i work got broken into, the alarm was going all night and nobody took any notice.
even with cctv, we got some kids on camera damaging property, the police took the video and said the picture wasn't clear enough, even though you could clearly see who it was!
i think the more money you spend on security, the more it will cost you when thieves damage it in the process of breaking in! just do what i do...buy a dog (a big guard dog, not a little poodle)

Yes. Plus two guard dogs! Burgular alarms tend to go off when you do not want them to,for no reason. People do not take notice of them!!
