They're not, but gay guys tend to know how to dress and groom better than the general male population (not always but generally).
Believe me, there are some ugly gay folks too!

That's a myth.
**and to address the thumbs down someone gave me: Walk into a gay bar. You have gay men who are goodlooking, not so goodlooking, and all degrees in between. To say that most gay guys are better looking than straight is a very broad generalization that's just not true.

That's not necessarily true. My girlfriends and I used to go to gay clubs alot. There's just as much variation in looks in gay guys as there are in straight guys. But I think generally gay guys dress better and pay more attention to their appearance than straight guys. I think it has to do with men being more visually stimulated by another person's looks so straight women and gay men try to look their best to attract men.

It may be something of a stereotype, but in general, I've noticed that there are a LOT more gay men that are "really easy on the eyes" than straight men.....which is DEPRESSING as heck for me, as a straight woman who likes looking at the menu!
JBoyWonder, it's a shame you live in England----I'm in US, and was hoping you'd trade viewing spots with me. (echo sigh)
Think it may have more to do with grooming and dress.

better maintained, garage kept and polished... Just like a well kept car (they are usually high maintenance and low mileage).. You have to look nice to attract the same sex..

they tend to try harder gay men are pretty critical ...women are just pleased if you turn up horizontal gay men tend to be very very critical of each other ...sad but true.
