First try thinking of something that comes from your heart and is penned by your hand. I think anyone would appreciate one of those more. However, this is a good poem:

The Love Of A Sister
by Begary

If love could change the way things are
you would live forever and go so far
You'd know that I am always there
That I'll always love you, I'll always care

But love can't change the way things are
Or stop your pain or mend your scars
I hope that love can let you know
Not to give up or ever let go

Even when you're not in sight
You're in my thoughts day and night
Love is what will keep you there
And make me thankful for all we share

You have my sympathies! Good luck!!

Funeral Poems For Sister

I am sorry to hear about your sister.

There isn't a time for this tragedy
No place and no way to prepare
That part of us all that has slipped away
Has risen and yet we all fall

I haven't the words to try to explain
Nor have I heard them from you
No solace or comfort no peace can I give
None do I get from a cross on the wall

An explanation will never suffice
Cards and flowers a waste
Time is said to heal but the time is not here
All clocks have come to a stall

These few lines do not ease the pain
They can't express how I feel
Only words from her lips upon our ears
Will ever bring peace to us all

The best is written from YOUR heart! Not someone elses words...They don't know how you feel about this tradgic accident. You need to share how YOU feel..... Say what she was like, what you did together etc.! I can't give an example, I haven't faced something like that yet...........But when it will.... :(

Anyway: Best of luck to you, and I am really sorry to hear about that. Hope you find a good poem within yourself

Sorry about your sister. I don't have a poem but i think it would be appropriate to do one of her favourite poems or even lyrics from her favourite song.

i don't know any poems but, if its a free lunch i could always say a few jokes, topical of course, or maybe sing a song, I'm not bad really.. never done a function at a funeral but i'm sure once i've got into the swing of it i'll be well received. By the way, where is the venue i might need to book a train if its not local.
