I have a dwarf hamster and I was worried about that too. I did some research and found out that hamsters need to be taken to a vet if they are injured or sick. If your hamster seems to be acting differently or strange, I strongly reccomend going to a vet. If your hamster ever breaks a leg, like mine did, there's almost nothing they can do. A dwarf hamster's too small to put on a cast so watch and make sure it's eating and drinking. If it can't get up, GO TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY! Hope this helps! :-)

Hamsters (and exotic pets) only need to see the Vet if they get sick or injured.

Any injured pet deserves your attention and care if they show signs of being seriously sick. Take them to a vet if they show signs of abnormalities, but they don't need routine checkups.
