Not really. What can be noisy the hamster wheels that they run on. And they are active at night so if the wheel is a little squeaky it will drive you nuts. Most of the ones they sell now are pretty quiet though..

The wheels make the most noise. The sqeaky metal ones are the worst, especially since they're nocturnal and do their running at night.
However, when we had them, my family swore they could hear them sniffing around and eating at night. I suggest keeping the cage in an enclosed space and not right beneath your bedroom. Another good tip is to let them run around in a plastic ventilated ball in a small, closed, safe room during the day, and they're more likely to get a little sleep at night.

Hamsters are nocturnal.
They can be very busy during the night, and if they have a wheel, they can be noisy on it,as well as general scratching around sound.
I would recommend you not keep a hamster cage in your bedroom/sleeping area for this reason !

Mine does sometimes, at night mostly. they're very nocternal. the noise they make tends to just kinda scratching and burrowing, or if he's running in his wheel, the wheel makes noise. Not very noisy though, just don't put him in your bedroom and you'll be fine

hamsters are nocturnal.. they will be up all night running on their "wheel"... I wouldn't keep them in your bedroom if you want to get any sleep.

So don't get discouraged too immediately. carry her or circulate away your hand in her cage for a couple of minutes daily, wash your hands earlier doing this, and enable her get used on your scent. She'll get used to you even speedier in case you consistently provide her a cope with once you are attempting this. She'll see you coming as a good factor, and be greater will to be picked up. additionally, once you circulate to %. her up, attempt to scoop her up with the two hands, do not grab at her from in the back of through fact it scares them and you're greater probable to get bitten. as far as the place you purchase it, merely circulate to the situation the place they seem to nicely known their stuff, and the prevalent public of their animals look healthful. attempt to stay away from places that sell puppies through fact with the help of paying for his or her you're in all possibility donating to puppy generators. maximum Petsmarts do not sell puppies, and generally take good care of their animals. once you %. out one, get one that is curious, not terrified or torpid. make confident there is not any mucus around eyes and nostril, and that it would not have moist tail. do not purchase a ill animal in an attempt to maintain it, through fact you will merely be rewarding the human beings who do not take care of their animals. Oh- and Petsmarts generally have care courses on their animals for unfastened, so which you will %. up one which will merely provide you the basics of retaining your hamster healthful. XD

Yes. When they hear themselves referred to as "dwarves" - Try using the term "vertically challenged" or something less harsh and they'll quiet down.
