I play soccer up here at school, and i'm seeing one of our athletic doctors once a month for my accutane. anyway, i was unsure up until the last minute of the season whether we would make our conference tournament so i had to cancel my appointment and sort of play it by ear at the last minute. this morning i got a very angry message from him yelling at me, and i didn't have a problem with the fact that he said he was upset and going to release me and not see me etc, but then at the end of the message and i quote "i will call your coach if i have to, your dad, and i'll see to it that it's damn near impossible for you to get any help from anyone here ever again." i mean obviously this is highly unprofessional and uncalled for by a doctor. i plan on letting my ad hear the message tomorrow, but does anyone know if there's any other type of governing body for doctors and ethics that i could get in contact with? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

The web site below should help, definitely report him, He is an unprofessional bully, and by reporting him you are protecting another from possible future abuse.

Make copies of that message then get a free consultation from a lawyer, see how he likes having that played for the state medical association, the AG office ( making threats is a crime) and the local media.

What a jerk that md is. Go to your advisor and also your coach. Let them listen to a copy of the tape and then go to the AMA like the other guy told you. Is he the team doctor? If yes he may not be after your school gets done. Good Luck, make copies.

I agree with Vinlunny......if an attorney plays this message back to the doctor he will surely change his tune.
Rule of thumb in the US: Attorneys dislike doctors and vice versa.....of course you understand why doctors dislike attorneys to much.....because they love to sue them.
I don't think you need to sue him....just shake him up and teach him a lesson.

Call a lawyer and ask them if what he's doing could be considered a "threat" and if he actually does that should you sue him.

If you are in the US you should call your state's AMA http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/category/7630.html and report him. They will investigate it and punish him if they agree with you. Good luck.
