Though I would like to posture, like many other “patriotic” Americans, as if I would be intrepid in the face of terrorist attacks; I know deep inside I would be terrified. It is only human to express fear in the face of something that could lead to your demise.

However, is terrorism an immediate threat to me, to where I am actually concerned about it? No. I sincerely believe the terrorist threat level is an exaggeration concocted by this administration to garner support for their misguided foreign and domestic dealings. There is a higher statistical probability that you will be killed in a car crash, die of a degenerative disease, or be a victim of a violent domestic crime, than be blown to smithereens or beheaded by an Islamic terror cell.

People need to stop paying attention to the amount of focus an issue gets in the media, and study the numbers associated with these events to assess what things are truly worth worrying about. You will soon find there is a great disconnect between what you fear, and what is actually a probable threat to you.

Well if a group of terrorists showed up in my neighborhood, I would definitely be afraid. That's kind of obvious, I think. But as far as terrorists in general, and realistically seeing as they rarely make group visits to random U.S. neighborhoods, no I do not feel too threatened. I think I am much more likely to be a victim of a random act of violence or a car accident than a terror attack.

Terrorists did turn up in my town - London. No one hid

As for the gun, point it at who exactly? The terrorists we UK nationals, teachers in our schools, average looking kids. Before picking up the gun or at least while we are using it we should ask why.

Ok, here goes. Liberals would crap in their pants and hide their heads in the sand and hope the problem goes away. Republicans would be shooting up the whole town until the last man was standing. Let's ask our immigration officials what they think. Or better yet let's ask our president who I keep hear saying something about the "rule of law", while thousands of illegals stream across our borders each and every day. Terrorism is being practiced upon American citizens every day by the terrorists on Capitol Hill. I am scared of them.

I am not afraid of Al-queda. they are largely fictional and nowhere near as capable as your leaders would have you believe. Those terrorists on 9/11 could not possibly have succeeded without inside help. Bush was NOT involved. I believe Cheney was though.

Bush's MOB are far more dangerous. I Fear Cheney, Bush and Rummy far more than Bin Laden (who is very probably dead).

BTW, where I live, the Government have decided that it is far more preferable to only allow criminals to posess guns.

I am not afraid of anything, least of all terrorists. I am, howvere, at least as suspicious of the western governments and their motivations/ personal agendas, as I am of the whole terrorist scenario.

That's not the part that scares me. What scares me is the inability to fly on a commercial plane (especially overseas) without wondering whether there's a shoe bomber on board.

Terrorists are too cowardly to allow us to get our hands on them, except by their own mistake.

A lot of people do not realize how much terrorists want to kill them. It is a real and scary threat. I am sure glad we are fighting them over there instead of over here, but if one actually showed up in my neighborhood there would be hell to pay.
