What you can do is contact your local police department or Department of Family Services. I'm not sure if your really from New York but judging by your name I would guess so. Below you will find a link and a phone number to New Yorks Child Abuse Hotline. Please call it and save your self from anymore abuse.

Tell your mom right away. If you cant talk to your mom tell an adult that you feel you can trust, a teacher, a friends mom or dad, a school official, a priest or other type of clergyman.
If I may ask why is your dad hitting you only when you mom isnt around?
Its not right for anyone to hit you, parents or otherwise, I'll pray for you and hope that you get the help you need, If you need to talk I'm always available, I wont pressure you into anything because I'm not fully aware of your situation. The decision is yours, I wish you luck

Speaking from experience I told my school counselor and by law they have to report it. That can do a lot though that will put him one on watch with the police, two they have to tell your mom, and if you can get proof like a friend taking a picture if you have bruises that will work in your defense because again speaking from experience mothers do not like to think that Daddy's are capable to do that. I am sorry that this is happening to you and I really do know how you feel, there are people that are out there that know how you feel and support groups of you need them.... you can always email me if you need support mercy_00@yahoo.com

You should talk to some one, anyone who has some authority like teachers or the school counselors. Have you tried talking to your mom and telling her what is going on? You need to tell some one so you can get help no one deserves to be hit or taken advantage of like that.

I KNOW how you feel, and I cant help you, you have to help your self, it may seem like he is bigger, stronger, but you have all the power. DO NOT tell him of your plans, but please go to an authority, surf the net, you have many options, it only takes one step, yes mom will be angry, but that is her cross to carry, yours is to get out and heal, and stop the cycle. We have a job as parents to protect our young, if we fail at this, then it is only fair that someone else would do the job for us. Find someone else.
Below is not a sorce but a site that will take you to many others, I hope you find it useful.

tell your mom or better yet tell the police and then if your dad goes to jail then just forget about him because if he wants to hit you in the time that he has to spend with you then he's not worth you time.
