Please more people respond because I hear on a DVD "W" and and movie primere for The Fountain "V".

well, if you're saying it in english you can do it either way, but since its a european name...(not sure from russia or germany) its pronounced with a v from where it originated

Sounds like a German last name, I'd pronounce that W like an f.."faiz", not "feiz"

I think it comes from the German word weiss, or the color white.
