c. It's the 7th term

Here is the entire sequence:
3/16, 3/8, 3/4, 3/2, 3/1, 3/(1/2), 3/(1/4). Each time you take half of the denominator. 3/(1/4) = 3*4=12.

This is a GP a = 3/16, r = 2
For any GP Tn =ar^(n-1)
In this case Tn = 3/16 * (2)^(n-1) = 12
So 2^(n-1) = 64 = 2^6
So n - 1 = 6
n = 7
So 12 is the 7th term.

(3 * 2^(n - 1))/16 =
(3 * 2^(n - 1))/(2^4) =
3 * 2^((n - 1) - 4) =
3 * 2^(n - 1 - 4) =
3 * 2^(n - 5)

3 * 2^(n - 5) = 12
2^(n - 5) = 4
2^(n - 5) = 2^2
n - 5 = 2
n = 7
