well, histororians lied so many times in the history. It happens not just with Holocaust but lets say in the ex communist countries, in countries where there is dictatorship, where history was thaught in a fake or not complete way. In Japan, primary and high schools WWII is still thaught without full owerview what the role of Japan was in that war! .
Denying Holocaust is refusing top accept any responsibility for it. It can also be lack of knowledge. The less you know about the world, easier you get manipulated.
Also, for some people it is easier to accept a pink truth, than to see reality which is painful.
And not to mention, that after the WWII there were very few poeple who really wanted to hear about Holocaus. Survived victims wrote about it. People simpply do not like the truth sometimes.

Do we not wish that it did not happen. But it did, it was real, history tells us that it did happen. And the Concentration Camps are still there to see, and much has been written about it.
