that would be the worse mistake of foreign policy ever! it would be a slap in the face to the rest of the world. I'm not saying the UN is perfect.. but if there isn't some other, better platform for the world governments to work with then we should stay with the best we have!

Depends on what your interests are in.
If you think the United States should be able to do what it wants, when it wants, how it wants, without the consent of the world community, then yes. Seeing as the United States regularly violates UN Charters to pursue "economic interests" we might as well completely withdrawal and pursue our hegemonic ambitions unimpeded, take control of the worlds markets, and thus breed more hatred for us than we have already throughout Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
I, however, want a peaceful world built on international cooperation and equality. The impending "imperialization" that would result from the withdrawal UN would be most dire for the citizens of this country as they are the ones who always pay the price for the mistakes of it's leaders; that is how it always works in illegitimate and fascist governments.

Yesterday would have been the best day to do it but as it is already gone I will accept withdrawing today as a suitable alternative.
We should not only withdraw but also kick the U.N. out of the USA I heard that there was room for them in Venezuela.

It'll never happen, but I'd love to see it. The UN has been ineffectual for years, and now it is also corrupt. If we applied the millions of dollars we pour into the UN directly into locations in the world where it is needed, I daresay we'd do a lot more good than how it is used by the UN.

IMHO - No.
I think that the current US ambassador to the UN should be replaced - and the UN should step in to help insure that US elections are fair and undoctored.
The recent cutting into the authority of the UN by the US is a pointed attempt at once again remapping the planet. We are faced with upheaval at every turn of a war mongers glance - when the UN balks at engaging sovereign nations in war without cause - our leadership dresses them down as being weak and ineffective. Much like generals eager to play with their newest destructoys - our leaders have lost their way.
The UN is a fine institution - it needs MORE authority.

Yes! The UN is a quagmire, and all we're doing is creating more bureaucrats. How many more of our sons and daughters must be lost in the halls of the UN before we say, "Enough!"
