Sorry, the only thing that is going to help is lots of fluids and plenty of rest.
There has been no cure for the common cold found as of yet.
Although most over the counter remedies will alleviate your symptons so you can rest more (and some will even make you drowsey enough to knock you out).
Enjoy a relaxing day in bed.

Try a Hot Toddy. Mix whiskey, honey and lemon juice in a coffee cup and then heat it for about 30 seconds in the microwave. The honey is to coat your throat as a natural cough supressant, the lemon is to break up the congestion, and the whiskey is to help you sleep. It works wonders.

A nice hot chilli dish, hot as you can stand it, with loads of garlic - keep wrapped up warm and enjoy the heat! I recommend Peri-Peri sauce (just go for a Nandos to avoid having to cook). Olbas and eucalyptus oil on your pillow works too.
Get well soon, I'm suffering witht he same lurgy right now, so all the best!

Drop of Brandy always does the job. Not too much though. Vicks vapour rub in hot water, towel over the head and breathe in the vapour should clear a blocked nose.

My mum alway's told me to warm Lilt [pineapple and grapefuit drink] in the microwave and add a spoon of honey. Both containing loads of Vit C. Paracetamol, and go to bed with a hot water bottle.
